Joey is SUPER friendly. Everyone who meets him falls in love. He is a gorgeous blue-eyed Himalayan. The only thing that doesn't look like a show cat is his tail which is a little less than a full plume! He was skinny and totally matted when we found him and all of his paws were infected. He's now groomed, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and free of the foot infection. He does have some ongoing medical issues (see special needs section). Any potential parent for Joey will need to have excellent vet reference and the willingness and economic means to provide for his medical needs. FELV/FIV negative, adoption fee required. For information call Fran Kurth at 410-685-8145 or email her at kurthfran2@aol.com

More about Joey

Good with Cats

Special Needs: Joey has a heart murmur which has been evaluated by a cardiologist. Copies of that report are available and the cardiologist is always willing to speak to serious potential adoptive parents. Joey is not currently on any heart medications but will need checkups at the cardiologist from time to time (typically annually). I have a whole house full of heart patients - it's very common. The exams are noninvasive and you get to stay with the cat and see the ultrasound. While the cat might have to go on meds eventually, they aren't particularly expensive and the heart issues typically do not affect either quality of life or life expectancy. Joey also has inflammatory bowel disease, which was diagnosed by an internist through biopsies taken by endoscopy. Cancer was ruled out. He is on medication for the inflammatory bowel and has put on weight. This condition is likely to be chronic but not life threatening. Finally Joey needs a dental which we will have done once the vet okays him for it.
